God Does not Pick Sides

Often in Marriage we feel that God picks our side in disagreements

Maybe we go to church and our spouse does not
Maybe our past is not as bad as our spouses
Maybe we know all the right Christian statements to make
Maybe we think we are just a better person than our spouse

God does not side with us because we think we are good

As a matter of fact God does not pick the side of humans- It is humans that must pick the side of God- Blessing come when we are in alignment with the will of God

We must learn how to rely on the Word of God so we can know the will of God so that we can be in alignment with God.

When you and I start judging our spouse we often get a critical eye and before you know if we are out of the will of God but we don’t know if because in our own eyes we are better than our spouse so we feel God is now on our side. Not knowing we have fallen into correction.

Stop trying to make God decide between you and your spouse, instead you decide between your will and God’s

The easy way out

“And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭13:27-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

One of the first question I ask any couple now before I perform their weddding ceremony is “ Are you sure this is the person that God wants you to marrry”. The reason for this question is to give them peace when they face the Giants( Large Issues) in marriage. The children of Israel had been promised the land of Canaan by God, but the forgot the promises once they saw how big the inhabitants of the land were. How many times do we forget the promises of God for our marriage when the opposition to the marriage seems greater than the opportunity to be happily married.

Quitting should not be the option, unless there was infidelity in the marriage and even then we should go to God in prayer before we just up and leave. Many couples never see the Milk and Honey of marriage because the check out once the see the giants.

Apply faith to your marriage and watch what God can do!
